Aloe Vera
Believed to be native to Africa, Aloe Vera has been recognised across cultures and centuries for its skin-conditioning and soothing properties. Sourced from Tanzania.
Baobab Oil
Cold-pressed from the seeds of Africa's most emblematic tree. Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, recognised for its skin-conditioning and moisturising properties. Sourced from Tanzania.
Allanblackia Butter
A rare Central and East African botanical butter, recognised for its skin-conditioning properties and the exceptional richness it brings to any formula. Sourced from Tanzania & CĂ´te d'Ivoire.
Argan Oil
Cold-pressed from the kernels of the argan tree. Rich in oleic and linoleic acids and naturally occurring vitamin E, prized for its skin-conditioning and softening properties. Sourced from Morocco.
Ceramides
Naturally present in Wheat Grain Extract. Lipids of the same family as those found in the skin's own outer layer, valued in cosmetic formulation for their skin-conditioning properties.
Sodium Hyaluronate
A derivative of hyaluronic acid, smaller in molecular size and water-soluble. Widely used in cosmetic formulation for its capacity to hold many times its own weight in water.
Origin Story
Face Cream
A face cream has to suit the climate it is made for. In Zanzibar that means heat and humidity most of the year, where anything heavy sits on the skin rather than sinking into it. So this one was built light.
Aloe from the slopes near Kilimanjaro forms the base. Baobab and Argan oils bring their conditioning character, with Allanblackia butter for richness without weight, and ceramides drawn from wheat grain, the same family of lipids the skin makes for itself.
