The Botanicals | Key Ingredients
Aloe Vera
Believed to be native to Africa, Aloe Vera has been recognised across cultures and centuries for its skin-conditioning and soothing properties. Sourced from Tanzania.
Glycerin
A humectant known for its moisture-attracting properties, long established in cosmetic formulation for the comfortable, hydrated feel it leaves on skin.
Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters
Derived from jojoba. Valued in cosmetic formulation for their humectant and skin-conditioning properties.
Sodium Hyaluronate
A derivative of hyaluronic acid, smaller in molecular size and water-soluble. Widely used in cosmetic formulation for its capacity to hold many times its own weight in water.
Allanblackia Butter
A polyhydroxy acid (PHA) derived from plant sugars through fermentation. Recognized as one of the gentlest exfoliating acids. It is valued for its skin-conditioning, humectant properties.
Origin Story
Vanilla & Lavender Body Butter
Aloe grows well on the slopes below Kilimanjaro, in the red volcanic soil around Moshi, where the altitude keeps the days mild and the mountain holds the rain. It is a plant that stores what it is given, which is most of the reason people have reached for it for as long as they have.
That aloe is the base of this toner, with Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate for the comfortable, hydrated feel they leave behind, and Gluconolactone and Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters completing the blend.
